Only three Saint Rose graduate programs require scores from graduate entrance exams.

Applicants to the Communication Sciences and Disorders graduate program, must submit a GRE score.

Applicants to the Accounting or MBA program must submit GMAT scores if their undergraduate GPA is below 3.0.  However, you do not need to submit GMAT scores if you already have another post-graduate degree (such as a law degree).

If you are required to take the GRE or GMAT exam, here are some tips on how to prepare:

• Register for the exam. Both tests are offered year-round, but you must register online to take the test. Test centers are located throughout the United States. The fee for the GRE is $160. The fee for the GMAT is $250.
• Research the structure of the exam. Both tests attempt to reflect the kind of thinking you’ll do in graduate school. Research the content and structure of the exam to get a better idea of what you can expect. The GRE has three test sections: Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Analytical Writing. The GMAT has three similar sections: Analytical Writing Assessment Section, Quantitative Section and Verbal Section. The GRE is offered in paper-based and computer-based formats, depending on the testing location. The GMAT is offered in a computer-adaptive format that adjusts to your level. The testing time for both tests takes between 3 and 30 minutes and 4 hours.
• Take advantage of free test-prep materials. Both test websites offer free test-prep materials. The GRE  and the GMAT offer free test-prep materials and software as well as some low-cost preparation materials. If you find that the free test-prep materials are not enough, you can attend preparation classes through services like Kaplan Test Prep or Princeton Review.

On test day, you should arrive at the testing center early in order to register and get settled at the location before the test begins. Make sure you get a full eight hours of sleep and eat a nutritious breakfast before arriving at the testing center. Don’t forget any necessary materials, including your admission ticket and identification.
